Sungai Rengit, Pengerang, Johor

Spent approximately 8 hours on the road (return) to get to this little town at the very southern tip of Johor. Met up with some of the locals who needed some simple advise on some issues of government land acquisition.

I must say it is one of the smallest towns that I've been to in Malaysia. Feels more like a village actually. The people were friendly and the food was good. Nuff said.

Here's a picture of a local guy riding his bike the way it should be ridden.

London 2012

I made a short trip to London just before the summer Olympics recently for a job. The job itself took all of 20 minutes and consequently we had about 5 days just bumming around London.

There wasn't much for me to do (ie didn't want to spend too much ££) and so we essentially just walked around the tourist belt doing the tourist thing, as the pictures below will attest.

Short and sweet. Just the way I like it.

Yeng Keng Hotel

This is the award winning hotel tucked  near the Penang Road end of Chulia Street. It was once an Anglo-Indian family bungalow which was built in the mid-1800s. After falling into hard times, the property was renovated in 2009. Rooms start from RM400 per night

Short Break

Managed to sneak in a short break over the weekend to my favourite place in Langkawi. It's all about spending time with the family, resting and catching up on some reading.

I think this time round, we ran smacked into the monsoon season (for the west coast, assuming my memory from my geography lessons from 25 years ago serves me right). The sea is way more choppy here at the Datai Bay than I remember them. The beach is not packed at all, so that's always a good thing.

But hey, it is what it is. Dark rain clouds may have been forming but it hasn't poured yet.

There's nothing like blogging live from the beach. Lol. Life us short, might as well enjoy it when the opportunity presents itself.

Changeable Hawk Eagle

Spotted this little fella outside the kitchen window yesterday, well actually the missus spotted it. Strange that we can find such wildlife in urban Kuala Lumpur. Must be my lucky day
